Cracking out of the egg...or into it?

I've been wandering the grid since December 6th 2007, and quickly became integrated into the stripping community. I don't regret it, and I was damn good. However, that is a story for another day.

When this 'exotic dancer' ventured out into the world of photography. Turning my real world art skills into digital form is frustrating and trying, but discovering Flickr has expanded my ability to see SL in a completely different light. When I became truly exposed to all that Flickr has to offer in the way of SL photographers and artists (most balk at the word artist, but I protest in some cases), I realized how little I really knew about Second Life in and of itself.

Then along came an exhibit called Pornosophy for one of the MODA SL Sims, Freak Show. I submitted a picture, went to the opening and closing parties, and felt a part of something in world outside of the BDSM community (Again, another post for another day. However, that is not intended to put down that side of my SL life).

The next show is called GODart, and I am searching the grid for the items I need to make my project. All I can think about is,
"If only I could make the items I need instead of wasting countless hours searching for them and massive amounts of lindens buying them."

I also learned that many people make their own poses when they have a particular project they are going to work on. An acquaintance on Flickr told me about QAvimator, and I downloaded it and played around. I am not near having the ability to make the kind of pose I want for my picture, but I am feeling accomplished somehow? Pathetic?

There are classes advertised, but when I go to them there is never anyone there. Building, scripting, sculpties, animations, poses, clothing, particles...I want to learn it all in basic form, and then choose a specialization. I am having a hell of a time finding a place to do this, and I am the world's worst learner when it comes to learning from reading on-line tutorials. My eyes swim when someone tries to explain anything to me over a computer screen in a technical, muti-section article.

I suppose I also want to be a part of something bigger than wandering around and dabbling in my own photography projects, hanging out at my one semi-regular spot, shopping, and helping out the day of an event...So am I a late bloomer?
